South Australian First Nation Writers Are…
STORY TELLERS
“Ancestors have stories to tell through us, to share and awaken.” Edoardo Crismani
First Nations’ peoples are the world’s oldest story tellers through imagery, sound, music, dance, symbols, language and more.
Stories of creation that ground and guide us. Stories of heartbreak and struggle, power and strength, joy and hope, that educate, entertain and inspire.
We are podcasters and poets, filmmakers and game designers, musicians and orators.
CHANGE MAKERS
‘I’m interested in counter-narratives, truth-telling and active transformation.’ Ali Baker
South Australian First Nations’ Writers Group is a growing collective of more than 200 members who are leaders and change makers. We use our individual and collective voice to correct history, reclaim language, and embrace our queerness.
Our stories, and the platforms we connect with audiences, are as diverse as the First Nations’ peoples we represent.
